Song Two: | Little Man | Lunar

Honestly, this is one of my personal favorites. I feel like this track really alludes to the type of artist I wanna be. Well, as far as my “sound” goes.

The beat came about no different than the others. I sequenced the drum pattern first, set it aside and started playing some records by a popular flutist I recently downloaded. What drew me to that type of music was its airy openness.

To say that I’m a fan of the band “Little Dragon” would be an understatement. Needless to say when a few of their acapellas became available, I jumped at the chance to rework them. The song “Little Man” comes from the quartet’s third album, Ritual Union

Rashida Jones… What’s good??

Song One: | Bait | Lunar

To start, I wanna thank everyone who downloaded Lunar. It means a lot to me. The following post and others similar to it (as they relate to the project) serve as a way for me to preserve some thoughts as well as share some.

The beat for this song was actually the last one I made for this project. For it, grabbed a piece of a song entitled “tema de cristina.” I’m not sure how many versions exist or if its a standard among the “Big Band” community, but the version I flipped was performed by a Brazilian singer. So, it came complete with cheesy  soap opera like dialogue mid-ways through the piece.

As far as the song I choose to remix goes, its called “Bait” (from Wale’s Eleven One Eleven Theory Mixtape. I’ve been a Wale fan since “100 Miles and Running”. In my eyes, he’s still one of the illest rappers doing it.

This song adds contrast to Lunar. It makes my sub rattle.
